Hobbs Fire Department Receives ISO Rating of 2

On Monday night, December 7th, 2015, City Manager, JJ Murphy, announced that the Hobbs Fire Department received an Insurance Services Office (ISO) rating of 2. The ISO is a rating that signifies how efficient a fire department is based on response times, training, fleet, equipment, water supply, and communications. In the state of New Mexico, only two cities have received a higher rating than Hobbs, which are Las Cruces and Albuquerque; both of these cities received a rating of 1.

The citizens of Hobbs can feel confident that these ratings are among the best in the nation. This rating shows that the HFD is well-equipped and well-trained to provide the best response and service possible in an emergency situation.

'The ISO rating of 2 is a direct reflection of the department members' commitment to this community and the tremendous support of the elected officials and City administration. The HFD will continue to strive to improve,' said Chief Eric Enriquez.

This rating will also provide home owners discounts if their home owner's insurance carrier recognizes ISO ratings in their criteria.
